You are bidding on one lot of two Pilot brand irons or blades or cutters for a Consolidated Tool Works wood plane as pictured.Also included are the chip breaker and chip breaker screw for each one, although the shape of the chip breakers doesn’t match (see the last picture). These don’t seem to come along often, so imagine my surprise when 2 of them came my way! Both are marked with “CONSOLIDATED TOOL WORKS INC PILOT USA” inside the ships wheel logo as shown.Width of each iron at the lower edge is about 2″, and overall lengths of the irons is very close to 7″ for one, and a about a 32nd over 7″ for the other. Both irons came to me with quite a bit of dried grease or cosmoline, especially in between the irons and the chip breakers. Much of that cleaned off, but it left all of the pieces with some staining. Condition of both irons is otherwise good, with a bit of a grayish appearance to both irons and chip breakers. Again, the shape or bow in the chip breakers is different between the two. The iron on the left in the first picture (the cleaner of the two) has some light pitting with nearly all of that in the upper third of the iron on both sides. The chip breaker with that iron has a few spots of light pitting.The iron on the right in the first picture has some light pitting scattered up and down the logo side, and a few bits on the back side mostly at either the top or the bottom. The chip breaker with that iron has some bits of light pitting on both sides. The winner gets both irons! The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it’s not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20″ long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30″ long, because those longer packages won’t fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, eBay requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including eBay. If I ship to a state where eBay is required to collect sales tax, eBay will charge you the sales tax for your location.
