VINTAGE ~* LSP CO. ~ LS PETERSON CO *~** STERLING SILVER + BLACK HILLS GOLD STYLE **~ DEEP GREEN GEMSTONE ~*~ PIN or BROOCH ~*NO RESERVE_______________________________ SIZE: This pin or brooch is relatively small measures approximately 1 & 1/4″ in width; 1″ in height (Highest / Widest Points) ~ Approximate weight is: 3.5 Grams DESCRIPTION: This auction features a sterling silver and green gem pin or brooch. It is a beautiful piece and features a deep green gemstone with black lines flowing throughout. I initially believed that is was malachite, but I’m not sure now. Either way, it is a very pretty stone — the light just has to hit just so. Around this gemstone there is an ornate silver frame. On the left and right of this there are delicate images of flowers. On the top and bottom, though, there are applied floral pieces on top of the silver in both green and rose gold. I am not sure if this would be considered true “Black Hills Gold” or not, but I do feel it is likely gold-filled. Either way, it does accent the piece quite beautifully. The back bears a safety clasp closure pin piece. It is signed on the upper, right side with “STERLING” and “LSP.” It should be noted that part of the markings are badly stamped, but this can still be seen under a magnifying glass or loupe (please see pictures for this, too). It would make a lovely addition to any vintage jewelry collection. If anyone should have any addition questions regarding this piece, please feel free to message me and I will be happy to help. Please do the pictures and the video as a part of the overall description, as well. Thank you! CONDITION: FAIR ~ I am considering the age and use of this item when factoring the condition rating. This pin appears to be in Fair condition for the age and use of it. It does have some minor usage wear seen — mostly in the form of very light surface scratches. This is mostly localized to the back, though. Otherwise, it does appear to be doing pretty well. It does have some minor soiling seen (and some tarnshing just beginning to form on the back). I will leave any cleaning and/or polishing to the new owner, though. If there is anything you feel that I may have missed where the condition is concerned, please feel free to message me and I’ll be happy to help. With age and use considered, I would still say this pendant rates in Fair condition overall. AGE/YEAR MADE: The LS Peterson Co. was in business from around 1939-1975. I believe this piece likely dates from its earliest days as a company.
